Joe “joeB” Berinato

Joe (joeB) Berinato gained his experience working for Billboard & The New Yorker Magazines in the height of the 90’s and was a founding member of Flyer Magazine NYC, the city’s very first pocket-sized portable Urban Culture Guide. While at Billboard, he was Hot Dance Club Play Chart Coordinator and Special Events Producer for Billboard’s Dance Music Summit After Hours Showcases in Chicago, and did occasional concert/show reviews for Billboard’s online pages. He was granted the honor of becoming a Voting Member of NARAS (Grammys®) while serving his tenure as Label Manager for legendary House Music label King Street Sounds / Nite Grooves Recordings / Street King Records. Recently he worked at DJ Magazine USA before going on to manage 4-time Grammy Nominee Kenny Dope’s Dopewax imprint, and now offers a variety of label services under Pitch Control Marketing, Inc., for labels like Crystal Waters’ IAH Records. Being in the game for well over 25 years, and the need to wear many hats as an independent, joeB’s creative management duties have also included many #1 Billboard club campaigns, indie and corporate promotion, PR, artist management, A&R, remix coordination, liner notes author, tour management and bookings for acts performing at ADE (Amsterdam), Southport Weekender (UK), Cape Town Jazz Festival (South Africa), Sapporo Music Festival (Japan), SEEME Dance Music Conference (Bulgaria), Ultra Music Fest & WMC (Miami)… and there’s surely more to come.

Testimonials

WMC is and has always been the lifeblood of the dance music scene. Never missed a year since ’96, I can’t imagine Amsterdam Dance Event or Ibiza Music Summit existing without the blueprint that WMC originated. Seeing this revived is absolutely essential to reunifying the North American scene surrounding electronic music and its fringes.

The Winter Music Conference represents a chance for Beatport to connect directly with our customer community. Having a strong conference means we have a platform to embrace the entire spectrum of electronic music culture. We are proud to support the resurgence of this great event.

Beatport, Co-Founder

Before there was Ultra Music Festival, there was The Winter Music Conference, the annual coming together of the dance music tribes. Miami in March is a fundamental place to be from a business perspective, and has always given me endless opportunities for discovering new partnerships and talent. WMC brings together the dance music industry and surrounding culture like no other event in America. I’ve been attending WMC for nearly 20 years, and I’m very much looking forward to experiencing its evolution in 2019.

Matt Colon

Director, North America - YM&U Music

Having only missed the very first year of WMC in 1985, it was 1986-1990 that initially placed me on the map globally due to the international attendance of the entire dance music community. All throughout the 90s I was often getting written about by various high profile mags and websites for having contributed to help break many artists, DJs, producers and remixers. WMC enabled me to bring many top industry people together all under one roof, especially at Groove Jet, where house music officially met Techno in my sets and it’s all been uphill since…TBC

Danny Tenaglia

DJ, Producer

Miami has always been a place I’ve considered home and WMC was essential for me and the label in many ways. From showcasing our new music to keeping up with all the new artists and releases. It was the official kickoff of the year and I’m happy to see it thriving again.
