Louis Tertocha, Esq. Louis Tertocha is General Counsel for the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County in Miami, Florida, where he supervises all legal issues pertaining to the operations of the multi-theater performing arts venue. Prior to his employment at the Arsht Center, Mr. Tertocha practiced entertainment, intellectual property and civil litigation in his own firm, which encompassed music, publishing, film, TV, visual arts, literary and fashion transactions as well as litigation. Mr. Tertocha’s clients have included recording and performing artists, songwriters, record labels, publishing entities, film and television production companies, actors, models, writers, visual artists and talent agencies. Mr. Tertocha’s commitment to the art and legal communities is evinced by his service as past Chair of the Florida Bar’s Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section (EASL), as a current member of EASL’s Executive Committee, a past member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Science’s (NARAS) Entertainment Law Initiative, a Director of the Miami Music Authority as well as prior service to Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. Mr. Tertocha also received appointments from the courts to act as a Guardian Ad Litem for the ratification procedures of minors’ talent contracts. Mr. Tertocha recently served as an adjunct professor for the University of Miami’s School of Music Business and frequently lectures for the EASL Section, the American Bar Association (ABA), law schools, music schools and the New World School of the Arts. His article “Fashion Modeling” was published as the cover feature for the Entertainment and Sports Lawyer Journal, published by the ABA. Prior to practicing entertainment law, Mr. Tertocha practiced automotive law, as a litigator for a nationwide law firm and served as General Counsel of Sterling Motor Cars, the importer and distribution company in the United States of the Sterling automobile, manufactured in England. Mr. Tertocha received conferral of a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Oakland University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Detroit.
