ARMAND PENA bio Considering that music was in his veins at birth, Armand’s success comes as no surprise. Armand’s first career break came at an early age spinning shows for “Café Con Leche,” alongside the big hitters of his time. From his 2002 white label remix of Lenny Kravitz’s “Going My Way,” to his original song “Brazilian Drums” back in 2002, Armand has received stellar reviews such as, “It’s a Hot Slice of NYC progressive tribal that’s getting lots of support from Danny Tenaglia, DJ Vibe, and Trendroid.” Armand Pena is proving himself to be a heavy force to be reckoned with, within the dance music community. Armand has intelligently positioned himself in the underground dance scene not only as a DJ, but also as a reputable music producer. He was already featured on such smash hit CDs as Erick Morillo’s Subliminal Session’s Voodoo Nights, Roger Sanchez’s “Release Yourself,” Oscar G’s “Space Miami” & “Made In Miami” and various other compilations for artists such as DJ Boris, Peter Rauhofer, Robbie Rivera, Tom Stehpan, Azuli Ibiza & Cr2 live & direct Ibiza nights and currently has originals with Subliminal Records & Ministry of Sound. The man is a force, a sound and with sincerity. He truly loves what he does, and reveals it in the affect that it has on his crowd and fans worldwide. Lately, Armand has also been focusing on the development of his own brand, in the form of a record label, “The Rhythm Freak Records,” designed as an outlet for original productions that included the Latin infused culture of his hometown of Miami. It had gain early success when Armand teamed up with his cousin Rio Pena, a club promoter from NYC, to help the labels artistic direction. The label has already amassed a major array of accomplishments and accolades. “Watching Me,” reached #1 on Beatport.com for “most download” during the summer of 2004, and two more of his tracks have been aired on “The Essential Mix” on BBC Radio One, which is an accomplishment in it of itself for any DJ/Producer on the planet! And also his new project along side founder Mike Penrod forming a Music Label called “Nikki Beach Music”. Armand Pena receives DJ/Producer praise and support from the likes of: Roger Sanchez, Kurd Maverick, Tom Novy, Oscar G, Ralph Falcon, Danny Tenaglia, DJ Vibe, Peter Rauhofer, DJ Boris, Robbie Rivera, George Morel, “Murk”, Tom Stephan (“Superchumbo”), Palash, Markus Binapfl, Plastik Funk & many others.
